TULI Maori Bird Symbol Tribal Beach Necklace meaning The Bird Messenger.  This black gunmetal tribal pendant depicts the Maori Tuli Bird and hangs from a black, hand-braided waxed cotton cord using ancient Polynesian knot tying techniques.

South Pacific islanders saw birds as the bridge between our world and the spiritual realm and used them as messengers to carry their prayers to the gods.  The Tuli Bird is associated with the Polynesian sea-god Tangaroa who transformed into a lizard, breathing only once a day when he caused the tides to change.

The Tuli Maori necklace is a part of the Tribal Hollywood Surf and Beach Jewelry Collection.  The Necklace is made of waxed cotton cord and closes with a toggle clasp. The pendant is gunmetal, made from cobalt, and pewter.  It is protected with a hypoallergenic invisible coating. The black rope cord has a fixed length of 20 inches (50cm), and the pendant measures 1 3/4 by 1 1/8 inches. The price includes both the pendant and braided cord.
